Suzhou Slac acquires Corima

Suzhou SLAC Precision Equipment has announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to purchase all the shares of Corima International Machinery S.R.L. The transaction is expected to be complete in the next few weeks.

Gianfranco Baldassari, owner and manager of Corima, said: “I am happy to be passing the ownership of Corima into good hands, while still taking part in the development of the business. I believe that there are many further opportunities for the products Corima has developed over the years, and SLAC is an excellent partner with the resources to expand the company to new customers and new geographies”

Shu An, chairman and managing director of SLAC, explained: “The acquisition of Corima will extend and enrich our existing product portfolio, and at the same time will allow us to set up a skilled technical service centre in Europe, in order to support the European entities of our multinational customers. This is a first step in our strategy of building SLAC into an international business partner for the metal packaging industry.”

Corima International Machinery is based in Ferrara, close to Bologna in Italy, and is the world’s leading supplier of post-repair systems for steel easy open ends using electro-coating technology.

SLAC is based in Suzhou, in China’s Jiangsu province, and provides metal forming equipment to the can-making industry, including conversion systems for easy open ends, body-makers and other critical equipment for beverage cans, and die-sets and tooling for a broad range of metal packaging applications.
