Abramowicz confirmed for Asia CanTech

Dr. Daniel Abramowicz has been confirmed as the first keynote speaker for this year’s Asia CanTech, which will take place in Bangkok, Thailand on 29-31 October 2018.

Abramowicz’s presentation is titled ‘How Package Design Enhances the Consumer Experience’ and will contain numerous examples from across the packaging industry of how innovative package design can enhance the consumer experience.

Illustrations from across metal packaging will feature heavily through the discussion of topics including sensory stimulation, ease of use, the inclusion of consumer-valued features and smart packaging such as the CrownConnect technology. In addition, he will address the scope of the food waste problem and discuss how metal packaging can play an important role in reducing food waste.

Abramowicz has a global responsibility for technology development across Crown. Innovations include new product design, process improvements, material developments, engineering, process monitoring, database management, standard setting and cost reductions across the breadth of Crown’s packaging products (food cans and ends; beverage cans and ends; aerosol containers; metal vacuum closures; speciality packaging; and packaging equipment). In addition, he heads Crown’s Environment, Health and Safety Organisation and Crown’s Sustainability Initiative.

Commenting on the first keynote speaker to be confirmed for Asia CanTech, Bell Publishing events manager Megan Freeman, commented: “I am delighted to be welcoming Daniel and Crown to Asia CanTech this year in Bangkok. Daniel will be our first keynote speaker opening the conference on Tuesday 30 October at 9:00am.

“With food waste being a huge problem around the world, it will be an interesting presentation to hear how the metal packaging industry is playing an important role in this, and with Daniel’s knowledge of the industry it is a real honour for us to be welcoming him to Asia CanTech 2018.”
