Asia CanTech 2012 Awards

Thailand-based can maker Benjamit Packaging won the supreme award at this year’s Asia CanTech Awards. The company’s Werther’s Original milk can was recognised for its combination of traditional shapes with high quality printing and embossing on the body. It is in the classic shape of a milk can with a deep drawn lid with a holder.

The Asia CanTech Awards were presented at the Gala Awards dinner on Tuesday (30 October). The prestigious awards were open to all can manufacturers in the South East Asian region.

Benjamit Packaging’s managing director Thongchai Oranrigsupak said: “We are pleased that our Werther’s Original milk can won the supreme award this year. Benjamit’s people regularly encourage themselves to make high quality products. We have worked hard to develop our mould making system and printing system. The supreme award proves that we are going in the right direction and is the motivation to continuously improve our products.

“Although our orders for speciality cans are quite small compared to food cans, we try our best to make high quality products, in printing and can making, with carefully controlled systems. The Werther ‘s Original milk cans are produced using a UV two colour pressing machine from Crabtree (Marquess plus)

In my opinion, with careful press control, a good machine, standard colour management system and inspection system, no matter how big the company is or where it is located, every company in the world can print high quality products. Customers must judge the quality. Our staff will continuously develop the products and send the products for next year’s Asia Cantech Awards.”
