CMB Apprentices represent the UK in World Skills Competition

A team of young engineers from CMB Engineering have been selected to represent team UK for the 2019 WorldSkills Competition to be held in Kazan – Russia.

Known as the ‘Skills Olympics’, the WorldSkills Competition sees the world’s best apprentices and students battle it out to win Gold, Silver and Bronze in their chosen skill.

James, Andrew & Isaac will be the fourth team of apprentices from CMB to be selected for team UK and we are very proud of them and their achievement. This selection reflects the company’s highly advanced engineering skills, technical expertise and commitment to developing the engineers and can makers of tomorrow.

The 2019 World Skills competition will take place in Kazan, Russia, from 22-27 August.

The event will be shown live on TV around the World and has the potential to change the lives and careers of those that compete.

Andrew Truelove, general manager at CarnaudMetalbox Engineering, commented: “Representing your country on the world stage is no easy feat. It takes hard work, determination and a high level of skill, and we are thrilled that our young engineers have made it on that plane to Kazan, their selection is an outstanding achievement and a fine testament to the value and quality of the apprenticeship schemes we are proud to run at CMB Engineering.”
