Canpack adds second can line to India facility

Canpack Group has announced it has approved an $100 million investment in a second can line at its greenfield facility in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, India.

The second line is expected to begin commercial production in late 2027 or early 2028 and is intended to address the sustained growth in the Indian beverage can market, where current demand exceeds local supply.

This investment is supported by positive market trends and recently secured commercial agreements with major Canpack customers. The company also said in a statement: “We do not expect these additional investments to have a material impact on the short-term financial metrics we have previously communicated, and they will support long-term profitable growth.”
